Creating an Earnest Money Request as an Agent

Create a digital earnest money request quickly and simply using Earnnest's mobile app or web-app. The process is incredibly simple and free for agents. Follow these steps to make an earnest money request:

Mobile App

1. Download the App

Start by downloading the Earnnest mobile app from the App Store or Google Play.

2. Log In or Sign Up

Earnnest is completely free for agents. Type in your email to start your account creation. You’ll be sent a one-time code to your email. Enter the code as prompted. Finish your registration by entering your name, email, and phone number.

3. Create a new property

Tap the Request payment button. You’ll need a few pieces of information in order to start your request. Make sure each of these items is squared away, then Begin.

4. Enter the address and deposit amount

If you have the email address of the person making the payment, select Yes, I have their email.

If you don't have their email, choose No, I don’t have their email. In this case, you can invite someone who does have the payer’s email to proceed with the request.

Type the property address. Make sure the entire address is correct then tap Confirm address. Enter the earnest money amount and tap Continue.

5. Select your preferred escrow holder

Enter the name of your preferred escrow holder. If your escrow holder does not appear you can invite them by tapping + Invite and completing the form.

6. Add payer info

Enter the homebuyer’s correct email address. Review the list of those receiving notification and tap Add recipient to add anyone. When everything is correct, tap Finish setup. Review the transaction you created. Finally, swipe the bar to send your request.

Web-App

1. Log In or Sign Up

Log in to the Earnnest web-app. If you haven’t made an account register now. It’s completely free for agents.

2. Start the Request

To request a payment, go to the Payment Request page and click on Request Payment. If you have the email address of the person making the payment, select Yes, I have their email.

If you don't have their email, choose No, I don’t have their email. In this case, you can invite someone who does have the payer’s email to proceed with the request. The request will appear as a draft on your Payment Request dashboard until the invitee finishes the request and sends it to the payer.

3. Enter the Request Details

Fill out the details of the payment request. This process includes, the earnest money amount and the property address.

4. Select Your Preferred Escrow Holder

Search for your escrow holder in the Earnnest network. The options are filtered by the name you type and the property address. If your escrow holder doesn’t appear in the search, you can invite to join.

5. Enter the Payer Details

Fill out the details of who will be paying the earnest money. Enter their first name, last name, email, and phone number.

6. Specify Notification Recipients

Add the email addresses of individuals or organizations who need to be notified about the payment request. All parties involved will receive receipts for their records.

7. Send Request

Select Send Request. The payer will receive an email prompting them to complete the payment. Both you and the recipients included in the request will receive receipts once the payment is successfully completed.
